Programs and Services

For the past 21 years, Cancer Warriors Foundation has been helping increase awareness about childhood cancer. CWF together with its partners and supporters have worked HAND IN HAND in providing programs and services to the children with cancer, the survivors and their families. CWF programs and services includes:

Medical and Psychosocial Assistance

Providing direct medical and psychosocial assistance to children with cancer, the survivors and their families is one among the focus and high priority of the foundation. Ensuring that children with cancer have access to affordable (if not free) childhood cancer medicines.

It is also crucial that parents and families of survivors receives’ social and spiritual support to be able to face the battle of childhood cancer. As the vision statement of the foundation says, no families should face and combat childhood cancer alone. Families of survivor should feel and receive all psychosocial support possible, henceforth parents are encouraged and required to join and attend monthly meetings and gatherings that aims to encourage, motivate and inspire parents to continue fighting for the lives of their children.

Scholarship/Home Schooling Program

Beyond saving lives, CWF helps childhood cancer survivors to fulfill their full potential and realize their dreams. We assist them and their families to build better and brighter future. CWF provides scholarship assistance and transport support for survivors who wish to pursue higher education or gain technical vocational certification. A clustered Homeschooling program is being developed to ensure that children undergoing treatment will not be left behind in their educational development.

CWF assists parents of kids with cancer to find gainful employment or to enhance skills necessary for employability or entrepreneurship. The foundation collaborates with various sectors that promote community-based initiatives to ensure continuing assistance; support and care are available and accessible for kids with cancer, the survivors and their families.

Awareness and Advocacy

  • Making the Government Accountable

CWF advocates for the changes in the medical and health sector’s system and improved quality of services. The foundation has successfully advocated for the inclusion of the childhood cancer drugs in the Universally Accessible Cheaper and Quality Medicines Act of 2008. This effort has lowered prices of 9 Essential Chemotherapy Drugs for Leukemia by at least 50%. This initiative contributed to the increase of survival rates in some of the CWF project sites by as much as 80%. This proves further that increased awareness, early detection, affordability and accessibility of medicines will and can save lives.
